Friends of Siach Shalom

Bringing the methodology of Siach Shalom to the Jewish community in North America

Addressing the Challenges of this Moment.

After October 7th, the capacity and the commitment to listen deeply to one another, has never been more urgent to our survival as a people. At this time, the Jewish People around the world and in the United States has a precious opportunity to rebuild its connection with Israel and reimagine its commitment to Zionism. For us at Siach Shalom, this means creating a collective identity that is based on internal wholeness, peace, and connection. Our vision is that this identity can play a meaningful role and contribute to the strengthening of Jewish life in North America. This is the purpose and the goal of Friends of Siach Shalom (FOSS).

FOSS seeks to bring the methodology of Siach Shalom to the Jewish community in North America.

Participants of all ages and identities will be invited to join a process that begins with small dialogue groups via Zoom and continues with learning opportunities about Judaism, Israel, Zionism, and peace. Following this process, participants looking for a more immersive experience will be able to participate in FOSS trips to Israel. Our program in Israel will provide unique opportunities for deep, immersive, interactive workshop experiences with a wide range of Israelis from every sector of society (religious, secular, right, left, Arab, Israeli and more).

A first cohort of this program is designed to address the specific needs of young Gen Zers who, since October 7th, have faced an unprecedented onslaught of anti-Semitic, anti-Zionist protests on campus and elsewhere. Our vision is that a young generation of Jews will emerge from their Siach Shalom experience more deeply connected and empowered with an expanded ability to enter into dialogue about Judaism, Israel and peace.
